In software localization and audiovisual translation text length is a crucial  factor. Linguists need to ensure that texts fit into the buttons and interfaces or that subtitles are not too long. In Wordbee users can add text length constraints on a segment or global level. The constraints can be an explicit character limitation or a percentage value compared to the source text. Moreover, character limitations can be imported from Excel files. Linguists see the set-up limitations as they type and receive a warning when they exceed the maximal limitation  or when they go below the minimal limitation. Users can also prevent linguists from typing after the maximal character limitation has been reached. An automated QA profile allows users to check if the character limitations have been adhered to and flag invalid segments accordingly.
